The twentieth Annual Minnesota State Sacred Harp Singing Convention will be held the weekend of September 26-27, 2009.
Saturday will be at St. Sahag's in St. Paul; Sunday at The Landing in Shakopee (Murphy's Landing).
Sacred Harp singing is a long tradition in the U.S., using shape notation for learning music. These events are all-day singings, and are wonderful. My entire family will be at the singing on Sunday. This is free and open to the public - all are welcome to sing. If you plan to stay for lunch, it is nice to bring a dish to pass.
